Martha’s Vineyard Public Schools (MVYPS) consists of five separate school districts, each an individual legal entity. Three of these districts are single school and town districts, each with its own K-8 school – the Edgartown School District, the Oak Bluffs School District, and the Tisbury School District. Three towns – Aquinnah, Chilmark, and West Tisbury – joined together to form the Up-Island Regional School District to serve PreK-8 students residing in those towns.
All six towns belong to the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School District serving students in grades 9-12 in a comprehensive high school. All five of these districts share one Superintendent and a central office staff, along with seven shared service programs for special education and related services. MVYPS serves approximately 2,100 students and employs approximately 550 staff members,
